Our Story

At Hearing the Call – National Capital Region, we have identified a critical need for affordable hearing aids and audiology services for residents in our community. We believe cost should never be a barrier to hearing health. Our initiative provides these services while offering recipients the chance to give back to their community as a gesture of gratitude.

With 466 million people worldwide experiencing disabling hearing loss—34 million of whom are children—and projections that this number will exceed 2.5 billion people by 2050, we are committed to addressing these challenges.

We strive to improve lives through education and enhanced hearing health, making a meaningful difference for those affected.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer accessible hearing healthcare to underserved individuals in our community while fostering a culture of giving back by empowering them to contribute to the well-being of others. We strive to enhance lives through compassionate care and mutual support.

Our Vision

Our vision is to eliminate barriers to hearing health, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to connect, contribute, and thrive within their communities.

Our Promise

Our promise and passion is to help those who wish to remain active and engaged rediscover clear, effortless hearing, enhancing their quality of life and community involvement.

The Need

Hearing loss affects 1 in 5 Americans, significantly impacting communication and quality of life. Untreated, it negatively impacts individuals, families, and communities. Unfortunately, Medicare and many health insurance plans do not cover hearing loss treatment, leaving many without necessary care. We believe no one should miss out on fully participating in life due to hearing loss, and we aim to bridge this gap by providing accessible audiology services and support.

Our Give Back Model

Our give-back model invites qualified participants to demonstrate financial need and contribute a modest fee for their hearing devices. In return, they commit to volunteering hours in their community as a way to express gratitude to local businesses, families, and donors who support their care. This model fosters a cycle of support and community engagement, enriching lives while giving back.

Our Services

Hearing the Call – National Capital Region offers a reduced-fee hearing clinic for individuals earning up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. We run a hearing aid donation program that collects used devices for hearing outreach trips, nonprofit use, repairs, or credit towards upgrading technology. Additionally, we coordinate international hearing outreach trips to extend our impact globally.
