Our Story

Sarah Curtis, Au.D. has been impassioned since childhood to serve others. Through her practice, Sounds of Life Hearing Center, and her occupation of audiologist it is her dream to improve lives in her community by bringing best-quality hearing healthcare services to those who cannot afford to do so on their own. Access to hearing aids and best-practice care should not be restricted only to those who can easily afford it or who fortunately have insurance benefits for coverage; rather, it should be available to all who need it. Through the support of Entheos and Hearing the Call, Dr. Curtis and her staff hope to inspire and enable those with hearing loss to seek treatment and to lived better lives through better hearing.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals in Northeast Ohio with hearing loss by providing access to hearing healthcare for those who are unable to afford it on their own and, in turn, allowing them to enhance the community through their service to others.

Our Vision

Our vision is that all who need it have access to hearing healthcare assistance regardless of socioeconomic status or life circumstances.

Our Promise

Our promise is to provide compassionate, best-practice hearing healthcare to all who need it and to strengthen our community giving opportunity to those with the desire to better their own lives and the lives of others.

The Need

1 in 5 Americans suffers from hearing loss to an extent that interferes with communication. We believe no one should miss out on participating fully in life because of hearing loss. Untreated hearing loss has a devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities. Sadly, even Medicare does not cover any of the costs of treating hearing loss, nor do many health insurance plans.

Hearing the Call is a nonprofit campaign bringing hope and healing to the hearing-impaired. Through quality healthcare, we help people connect with family, education, and opportunities.
