Our Story

Hearing The Call Red Maple Roots was founded to provide quality hearing healthcare to individuals in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties. Through our campaign we provide services to members of our community who could not otherwise afford them. We hope to improve the quality of life for these individuals, while also giving them the opportunity to give back to the community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to have a positive impact on the lives of individuals who do not currently have access to audiological services due to financial restrictions.

Our Vision

Our vision is that no person is prevented from full participation in life due to hearing loss. We hope to shed a light on the need for affordable hearing healthcare in our community by providing audiological testing and hearing aids to income eligible individuals.

Our Promise

Our promise is to strive everyday to enrich the lives of our patients while also improving the culture of our community.

The Need

1 in 5 Americans suffer from hearing loss to an extent that interferes with communication. Locally, hearing loss affects an estimated 21.9% of Mainers. In addition, the percentage of people living below the poverty line ranges from 12.2-15.9% between Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties. Untreated hearing loss has a devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities.

Hearing the Call is a nonprofit campaign bringing hope and healing to the hearing-impaired.

Our Give Back Model

Qualified participants will show proof of financial need, pay a small fee for their hearing devices and give back volunteer hours in their community as a way to say “Thank you” to the local companies, families and friends that are donating for their care.
