Our Story

At Ken Martin Audiology, we are deeply committed to the well-being of our community, particularly those struggling with hearing loss and facing financial barriers to care. We actively participate in numerous local resources to make quality hearing care accessible, yet we recognize that some individuals may not qualify for these programs. In response, we have created an additional option to ensure that our neighbors in need receive the support they deserve. Hearing loss is a serious condition that impacts daily life, and we believe that everyone should have access to the care that can make a life-changing difference.

Ken Martin Audiology partners with Hearing the Call to bring reduced-cost/sliding-scale fee hearing care to East Texas, as well as global hearing care initiatives.

Our Mission

The mission of KMA and Hearing the Call East Texas is to combine evaluation and technology with the timeless values of compassion, empathy, and respect in our care for our neighbors. By partnering with local donors, we aim to create meaningful improvements in communication abilities and to enrich lives.

Our Vision

At Ken Martin Audiology through Hearing the Call East Texas, our vision is to be recognized as the trusted partner in East Texas, dedicated to providing compassionate and professional hearing healthcare to many underserved in our community with the ultimate goal of enhancing lives through better hearing.

Our Promise

Through our non-profit initiative, Hearing the Call – East Texas, we are committed to providing audiological testing, hearing aids, and continuous hearing support to income-eligible individuals in our community. Additionally, we extend our support to global hearing healthcare initiatives, reaching those in need around the world.

The Need

One in five Americans experiences hearing loss severe enough to disrupt communication. We believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to fully participate in life because of hearing loss. Left untreated, hearing loss can have a devastating impact on individuals, families, and entire communities. Unfortunately, Medicare and many health insurance plans do not cover the costs of hearing loss treatment. Hearing aids typically cost $3,000-$6,000 per pair, which makes access to care difficult for low-income individuals

Our Give Back Model

We are not a free clinic. We operate on a reduced fee schedule to make hearing healthcare affordable for individuals and families with incomes up to 250% of the federal poverty level. Qualified participants will show proof of financial need, pay a small fee for their hearing devices, and give back volunteer hours in their community as a way to say “Thank you” to the local companies, families, and friends that are donating for their care.
