Untreated hearing loss can have a significantly adverse impact on individuals, families, and communities. Hearing loss can affect an individual physically, emotionally, socially, economically, and psychologically.
The Hearing Center of Lake Charles partners with Hearing the Call to bring a reduced cost/sliding scale fee hearing care to Southwest Louisiana as well as global hearing healthcare to those in need. Treating hearing loss improves education opportunities, enhances human connection, and provides a bridge to full participation in life.
Our mission is to provide hearing healthcare to individuals in Southwest Louisiana who otherwise cannot afford it, while providing them with opportunities to give back to the community through service to others. We also provide hearing healthcare globally to those in need.
Our vision is to improve the quality of life of low-income individuals with hearing difficulties in our community through affordable hearing healthcare, and to create a “circle of giving” whereby the recipient of our services gives back to the community through service and gains a greater purpose while doing so.
Our promise is to maintain the integrity of all individuals we serve and help them to live their best life through better hearing. We provide hearing testing, and fit, and maintain hearing aids for low-income individuals and underserved families in Southwest Louisiana as well as globally.
1 in 5 Americans suffer from hearing loss to an extent that interferes with communication. Hearing loss is an invisible ailment that often goes unrecognized, untreated, and underfunded by state and federal programs. Medicare and most insurance carriers do not cover the cost of hearing aids or the necessary programming and follow-up care by audiologists. Hearing aids typically cost $3,000-$6,000 per pair, which makes access to care difficult for low-income individuals.

International Hearing Missions
We are not a free clinic. We operate on a reduced fee schedule to make hearing healthcare affordable for individuals and families with incomes up to 250% of the federal poverty level. Qualified participants will show proof of financial need, pay a small fee for their new hearing devices and services, and give back volunteer hours in our community as a way to say “Thank You” to the community to which they belong.
Thank you for your interest in the Hearing the Call campaign in partnership with the Hearing the Call Louisiana. Your donation will go to Hearing the Call, a 501(c)(3) organization, and will be restricted to Louisiana. The funds for this project will be used specifically to help promote hearing healthcare to qualified individuals.
Each donation, no matter the size, will help to get us one step closer to providing access to quality and affordable hearing healthcare to those who would otherwise go without.
Thank you for your generous partnership!
IMPORTANT: Please note that your donation will go to Hearing the Call Louisiana.
